The Future Ain’t What It Used To Be

April 23, 2008

I just got off the phone with the University of San Francisco. They’re sorry their rejection letters weren’t sent out sooner like the rest of the schools, and no, they have not decided to accept me for the fall.

I’m still waiting to hear back from the last two places where my name is somewhere on the waitlist. It feels like I’m that lonely anxious kid waiting for his girl to show up at the movie theater. He’d pay for everything and treat her like a gentlemen if she’d only let him, but she probably never intended on it in the first place.

My apologies for the somber tone. Some Plan B ideas are in the works, and once I have a solid idea of what I’m doing and where I’m going things will probably feel better. Nothing will come to fruition for a little while, but I’ve been tossing around the idea of moving back to Birmingham or somewhere entirely new come July.

I’m open to suggestions. If you need me I’ll be at Evan’s watching 2001.
