Where Can A Guy Get A Bottle of O’sippie? Any Flavor. Wait, What’s That You Say? No O’sippie? What About Rat Bastard? Surely You’ve Got A Bottle of Rat Bastard.

I’m starting a brand new blog with weekly posts solely related to strange sodas from around the world.

We’re calling it Weekly Fizz. I know I know.

I’ve always loved finding strange sodas and drinking them and I’m thinking this’ll give me a chance to learn more about interesting colas, and to write some things while I’m waiting to hear back from graduate schools.

I will educate the world. One person at a time.

I’ll be keeping The Gulf Scream for everything else that wants to be written about. And I’ll try to make the period between posts shorter, in case anyone happens to be reading.

Love you.

Uke ‘Em When Necessary

March 5, 2008

So, my friend Stephanie has the most brilliant of blogs called ukeamillion wherein she records covers using her ukelele and terrific voice. She’s done stuff by The Flaming Lips, Saves the Day, and The Zombies just to name a few.

Well, right away my reaction was that she had to do “Tonight You Belong To Me” from The Jerk. She was up for it, and was nice enough to let my Steve Martin complement her Bernadette Peters. It took us a couple days thanks to my half-knowledge of GarageBand, but across states and through email we finished it tonight. I think you’ll enjoy it. Oh yeah. The trombone’s in place of the flugelhorn, which I neither have nor would know how to begin playing.

Check it out.
